Currently known as “The Bridge to Nowhere”, This fragment of the bridge is the last standing element of a bridge that was built in 1912 and was originally known as the Bankhead Avenue Bridge. It has a total span of 369 feet and is approximately 30 feet wide. It originally carried commercial vehicular traffic of US 70 over both CSX and X/S rail lines. Currently it is being seen as a part of connecting the Georgia Tech campus to the Beltline and Quarry Park – soon to be Atlanta’s longest park. It would also serve as a major element in helping to connect both sides of Northside Drive.
